Juniper Berry - fruit with power!

Aromatherapy Series - Fruits

Whether you use essential oils or the actual fruit to explore your sense of smell, let's take a look at what fruits have to offer emotionally and energetically in our continuing series on fruits!

Juniper is the last in our series on the power of fruit

Emotionally juniper cleanses and protects, pushing out negativity and especially helpful when feeling overwhelmed, needing to release worry and negative thinking. Pretty amazing

Juniper berry (Juniperus communis) is quite interesting. It has a fresh, woody pine like aroma and since it’s from juniper trees that’s not really surprising. Juniperus osteosperma includes twigs and leaves and also has a refreshing and deep pine aroma.

Juniper berry is actually quite nice as a dried spice. I've purchased juniper berries for a cranberry sauce recipe I love and a mock gin syrup that's lovely in just plain water over ice. As a spice it’s effect in food is very subtle but distinct.

Whatever fruit you use to explore your sense of smell, enjoy the fact that fruits are uplifting and cleansing as well as refreshing. Remember the plant is using the fruit to protect and nurture the seeds so essential oils from fruits tend to encourage inspiration, creativity, ease and can give you a real lift when you were feeling a bit down offering joy to the heart and mind.

So next time you need a boost grab some essential oils from fruits or cut open some fresh fruit to release the natural oils in the fruit!

If you don’t have essential oils and want explore please let me know or you can use fresh and dried fruit to explore. It’s fun to make notes as you explore your sense of smell noting their affect on you emotionally and energetically.
