Do you struggle sometimes with who to say yes to or what to say no to? I tried to keep everything balanced and everyone happy. In the end, no one was happy including myself! Does that sound familiar?
It can be sooo challenging to create priorities, especially if we struggle with people pleasing, overwhelm, and overcommitment.
Here's some tips:
- Identify your core values: Take some time to reflect on what's truly important to you. Your core values are guiding principles that influence all your choices and actions. If you're really clear with what your personal core values are, it's easier to make decisions that align with them.
- Get comfortable saying no and here's how: It's okay to say no to commitments that don't align with your core values or that will stretch you too thin. Saying no doesn't make you a bad person, it means that you're prioritizing correctly. Time is a limited resource - we only have 24 hours in a day. What is realistic in your top core value areas? Knowing your core values makes saying no to what doesn't align automatic and easy.
- Create a priority list: Once you identify your core values and get comfortable saying no, create a priority list of the commitments and activities that align with your values and bring you joy. This will help you stay focused on what truly matters to you and avoid overcommitting yourself. If we replenish our own energy we can freely pour out and give to others. You can give freely and generously from a place of abundance within.
